COMDA is proud to be a family-oriented business, one which has served our community in a variety of ways for over 50 years. As part of our connection to the community at large, we have dedicated our support to a variety of causes, events, and charitable organizations, all of which are aimed at improving the lives of community members near and far. In conjunction with our vendor partners, COMDA staff work tirelessly each year to drive fundraising initiatives and spread awareness for several causes. We truly believe that people are at the heart of good communities and we are proud to donate both our time and resources in support of initiatives that matter to us. 2023 Season of Giving

COMDA's Season of Giving has wrapped for 2023, and we are thrilled to have exceeded our goal of raising $1500 for our charitable partners, the Ontario SPCA and Daily Bread Food Bank.

In November, we kicked off the Season of Giving with our annual 50/50 draw. Proceeds from this draw were split between two of our selected charities and one very lucky winner!

We also raised money throughout December with our annual warehouse sale. Employees were encouraged to purchase promotional products - apparel, headwear, and more - at a discount, with a portion of all sales going to our preferred charities.

We are pleased to announce that we’ve raised $1590 towards these two great charities. We look forward to continuing our relationship with them in 2024 and are excited to help them reach their charitable goals.

2023 Initiatives In-Depth

The Ontario SPCA and COMDA have been long-time charitable partners. Over the years we have donated money to help cover the various costs that are associated with caring for the animals in our community, including providing food, blankets, and other necessities required for animal care.

In August, we sponsored the Ontario SPCA’s annual Sweat for Pets campaign. COMDA donated $1500 in addition to supplying personalized promotional products for the event. As part of our activity on the day of, we ran the photo booth in conjunction with our vendor partner, Goose Digital. We are thrilled to once again be participating in person with the Ontario SPCA and hope to do so for many years to come!

During our Season of Giving campaign, we raised $770 through our office fundraising events and donations on Canada Helps. We look forward to partnering with them in 2024!

The Daily Bread Food Bank was founded in Toronto in 1983 and quickly grew to become one of Canada's largest food banks. They provide food to over 200 food programs across Toronto! To help provide an inventory of non-perishable food items, COMDA's food drives have been a major success! Our previous Easter Food Drive raised a total of 75 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank and with the success of our Season of Giving Drive, we were able to raise $820 for The Daily Bread Food Bank in 2023!

Sea Paws Rescue (SPR) is a small passionate team of animal lovers who are dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned and neglected animals all over the globe. Their goal is to provide the required medical treatment, shelter, love, and care to every animal they rescue to ensure their successful transition from foster placements to their #SPRfurever homes.

Sea Paws Rescue is a local Toronto rescue that works with volunteers and partners in shelters across Canada, as well as abroad, to facilitate adoptions. They also protect these animals from abuse and neglect by educating the community on proper animal care and shedding light on the issue of animal overpopulation with the hope of ultimately reducing pet homelessness.

In July, we sponsored and donated promo products for Sea Paws Rescue’s 3rd Rescuing Lives Anniversary. These promo products promote the vision of the rescue and continue to advertise their mission of animal adoption.

Our sponsorship and donations help with travel & medical expenses. They also help SPR supply the basic necessities for Foster families who lovingly take dogs into their home until their furever family is found.
